Phish: The Southern Run

Phish
2010/07/01
Walnut Creek Amphitheater, Raleigh NC

I: Llama, Roses Are Free, Kill Devil Falls, Time Loves A Hero, Alaska, Water In The Sky, Runaway Jim > Moma Dance, The Divided Sky, Cavern

II: Backwards Down The Number Line, Halley's Comet > Light > Fluffhead, Have Mercy, Light Up Or Leave Me Alone > Free, Wading In The Velvet Sea, The Squirming Coil > Suzy Greenberg

E: Boogie On Reggae Woman

From the first notes of "Llama", it should have been very apparent how phishy the 4th of July weekend shows would be. The bands return to the southland reinforced just how ambidextrious the boys still are, with Raleigh's highlights moving around from the ridiculous "Light Up Or Leave Me Alone > Free" in the second set to the dance funk encore of Stevie's "Boogie On Reggae Woman".
Don't sleep on the "Jim > Moma" either.

Phish
2010/07/02
Verizon Wireless Arena, Charlotte NC

I: Buried Alive > AC/DC Bag > Vultures, Wolfman's Brother, Back On The Train, The Wedge, Mexican Cousin, Stash, Sparkle, Chalkdust Torture

II: Drowned > 46 Days > Twenty Years Later > The Lizards, Carini > Fuck Your Face > 2001 > You Enjoy Myself

E: A Day In The Life

Charlotte got right back into it with the years only "Buried Alive" - then Phish proceeded to nail down a fantastic set 1 before taking the Verizon Wireless Center to outer-space with set 2's "Carini > Fuck Your Face > 2001 > YEM". First FYF since '87 - and we got a Lizards taboot.

Phish
2010/07/03
Encore Park, Alpharetta GA

I: Character Zero, Destiny Unbound, Rift, McGrupp and The Watchful Hosemasters, Bathtub Gin, Mountains In The Mist, NICU, Gumbo, My Sweet One, Stealing Time From The Faulty Plan, Strange Design, Sanity, Run Like An Antelope

II: Rock and Roll > Prince Caspian, Tweezer > Slave To The Traffic Light, Bouncing Around The Room, Possum, Backwards Down The Number Line > Harry Hood, Loving Cup

E: Sleeping Monkey, Tweezer Reprise

It doesn't get much better than that first set. Strong contender for best "Gin" of the 3.0 era, the return of McGrupp and a "Sanity > Antelope" set closer. As far as the set 2 goes, it's all about the "Tweezer > Slave".
